THE BARBARIANS (1987) (aka The Barbarian Brothers, The Barbarians And Co.)
Review: From their appearance in "DC Cab" to a brief deleted scene in "Natural Born Killers," the twin bodybuilders The Barbarian Brothers were a cult phenomenon in the '80s and '90s. "Barbarians," their debut starring vehicle, is a 'sword and sandal' story of two brothers raised by a travelling tribe of performing artists. The proverbial disaster strikes when the tribe's beautiful queen Canary (yep, Canary) and her coveted magical ruby are snatched by the evil Kadar (Richard Lynch). The twins join forces as (big and chiseled) adults to rescue their queen and recover the ruby, with help from CSI: Miami's Eva La Rue playing a sassy barbarian woman. This is a fun flick, with enough swordplay and female skin to please the guys and some strong heroines--and, of course, the hunky Barbarian Brothers--to satisfy the ladies. ~ Megan Hussey Fullscreen, in English, no subtitles.
